Humana “Brings Home the Gold” for North Carolina Senior Games!!

FIFTEEN consecutive years for Humana as Gold Sponsor of the Senior Games State Finals!!

RALEIGH, NC – North Carolina Senior Games, Inc. has announced that Humana Inc., for the fifteenth consecutive year, has signed as the Gold Sponsor for the Senior Games State Finals.  This year marks the 36th anniversary of State Finals, continuing a tradition of excellence in our state.

"The ongoing commitment that Humana demonstrates to support the wellness and health of older persons reaches tens of thousands of individuals and in all of our communities – all across the state of North Carolina,” said Brad Allen, President and Executive Director of NC Senior Games. “Humana has shown its dedication to the importance of health and wellness across the lifespan and is again providing a significant commitment to health and wellness opportunities for older persons."

North Carolina has the largest Senior Games program in the United States, with 52 Local Games serving all 100 counties in the state, and the country’s largest number of year-round participants.  The State Finals in Raleigh will bring together some 3,000 qualifiers from the Local Games and more than 900 volunteers.  Competitive categories include Visual Arts, Literary Arts, Performing Arts, Heritage Arts as well as over 40 Sporting Events including Archery, Cycling, Golf, Shot Put, Swimming and Track Events.

“We are very excited to once again be a part of the North Carolina Senior Games,” said Patrick Farley, Humana’s North Carolina Director.  “Many of our employees are helping out across the state with various Local Games now, and we are all looking forward to the State Finals in September. We applaud all of the Senior Games athletes and artists for inspiring us all to stay active and productive.”
