National Senior Games

 
 

North Carolina Senior Games is a member of the National Senior Games Association.  National Senior Games occurs every two years, in various locations across the country. NSGA determines its own rules, sports offered, qualifying procedures, fees, etc.  You should contact them directly for any questions, comments or suggestions. 

National Sports: All sports offered at State Finals are qualifying sports for Nationals, except for the following:  bocce, cycling (1 mile), football throw, fun walk, horseshoes, mini golf, softball throw, standing long jump, SilverArts and Cheerleaders.  NSGA makes it’s own decisions about what is offered.

Note the following statement from the NSGA website: Online registration for all sports except Pickleball begins Tuesday, October 29, 2024, 1 p.m. ET. Registration for Pickleball begins on Thursday, January 30, 2025, after the 2024 qualification period ends to provide an equal opportunity for all Pickleball qualifiers to register for Pickleball events, which have entry limits in place.

Update from NSG on Pickleball from 1/31/25

Registration is closed after reaching capacity (1,600 athletes) in less than 24 hours. A record number of athletes qualified in Pickleball for the 2025 National Senior Games presented by Humana.

  • Players are encouraged to add their names to the waiting list for the event they qualified in. If space becomes available, those on the waiting list will be contacted in chronological order. They will be given a brief period to accept the opening and register before it is offered to the next athlete. To access the waiting list forms, visit NSGA.com/Registration, click the “Click Here to Register Online” button, and navigate to the second page of the registration process.

  • For doubles events, if one partner has registered, a spot for the doubles team is secured in the event. The second partner will be able to register through a special registration process. NSGA will begin to email a link for special registration to the partner who needs to register next week.

  • The NSGA is unable to expand Pickleball capacity for the 2025 National Senior Games presented by Humana.
